This assessment must also cover circulation areas leading to the private living spaces, including corridors and staircases.

The law mandates that the ‘Responsible Person’ must keep a record of all findings from the fire risk assessment, including any actions that have been taken or are yet to be addressed. As of October 1, 2023, the Building Safety Act 2022 has come into force, with Section 156 amending the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, which requires that all fire risk assessments be documented, irrespective of the number of employees or the presence of a license.

Further, residents and communities seek reassurance regarding their safety. The importance of passive fire protection in this sector is crucial for preserving lives and safeguarding homes.
